new update from devs:

https://www.hellletloose.com/so/3M5jdMCm?cid=0#/main

Have I missed my chance to support the game?

We understand that many people within the community may have only just discovered the title and are worried that they will miss out on participating in our Alpha. We have deliberated on this, and due to overwhelming demand have decided to open up our PayPal portal for a brief period with a limited selection of backer tiers. It will be available for the duration of February.

Hey everyone.

I thought I would give some more context around the HLL Community Divisions.

Quick points - TLDR

Over 600+ communities have submitted the form.
We are working towards a client to help us better understand system & server requirements.
You wont miss out by not filling out the form, everyone will have an opportunity to host or administer a server.
Us not contacting you does not mean you have been forgotten. Game development is the priority.
Your feedback and opinions matter.
Join us in Discord if you haven't already https://discord.me/HellLetLoose

Essentially the HLL Divisions is the Black Matter vision for the greater HLL Community, this means those clans/guilds/platoons/tribes/factions/crews/gaggles who have an interest in HLL can express it by filling this out - https://www.hellletloose.com/community. Not only does this give us insight in terms of potential numbers and overall appeal, but also gives us the opportunity to reach out to these existing communities and understand who they are on a global scale.

To date we have now had over 600+ communities big and small who play a wide variety of games, we are very excited to have had such an amazing response so far and again highlights the true desire for HLL and further motivates the team. A small percentage of these communities were contacted originally before our KickStarter begun, this was to gauge interest and help us understand what about HLL excited players the most and gain other feedback to help us with our campaign. As we move closer to the Closed-Alpha and forward to Steam Early Access it is our plan to continue reach out to as many of these communities as we can, at a time which makes sense to do so. Us not contacting you does not mean you have been ignored and forgotten, we are prioritizing game development right now.

For those who have dedicated servers and/or wish to host a HLL server of their own, we are working towards a client build which will help us better understand both system and server requirements. Once we have this information we will be better positioned to answer the likely questions that will follow. Filling in the form shows us the experience and enthusiasm we can tap into and helps us gain that vital feedback from experienced communities to make a stronger HLL community from the get go, being prepared here is the aim. To those who have not filled out the form or are unsure if they need to do so, please don't fret. Everyone will have an equal opportunity to be part of either hosting or administrating a HLL server.

It is important to us as an Indie studio to hear all your voices, we appreciate you all for help making this possible so if you haven't done so already please join us in our Discord.

Cheers,

Black Matter Team

informative post about deployable stuff:

The only deployable defence that I can remember being talked about are dragon theeths, hedgehogs, and ofcourse the AP and the AT mines.

I do think they have more buildable structures, but I can't find more confirmed structures right now.

AP and AT mines:

They've anwsered a few questions about that topic in an early Q/A on the Discord with the following Hell let loose devs: Max, Roman and Spono. (This Q/A is dated from before the Kickstarter was ended and was documentated by /u/erasmusgames , /u/CarlthePole and /u/EvoBlue_NZ the Hell let losse Reddit page.

note: (Devs Disclaimer) Pleasure! Please obviously remember that this is subject to change in so much as details of implementation are concerned. (ie. Support role may not have the mortar, that might be given to another role)
Q. Any info about the Engineer class?

A. The Engineer will be able to set up both Anti-Personnel and Anti-Tank minefields

Q. I don’t think that the build mechanics are done/or even close to being done, but how much time would you say it takes to fortify a position, with cover, guns etc? Will every soldier have a building tool, like in PR and Squad?

A. Building will be limited to specific roles.

Dragon teeths:

This information comes from the HLL facebook page. ( https://www.facebook.com/HellLetLoose/posts/1796033987092253 )
Dragon's teeth - How will you place them?

In Hell Let Loose, the German Engineer role will be able to deploy pre-fabricated rows of Dragon's teeth as a way of slowing the enemy advance. Their Supply cost is quite expensive though, so you'll need to make sure they're only deployed in critical locations.

These rows of concrete pyramids made up the core of any fortified line during the Second World War. Designed to force armor and mechanized infantry into prepared bottlenecks, Dragon's teeth required considerable preparation to make them feasible in combat.

Hedgehog:

This information also comes from the HLL facebook page ( https://business.facebook.com/HellLetLoose/photos/a.1649616705067316.1073741828.1353048301390826/1800868893275429/?type=3&theater )
Seen here in Hürtgen Forest, the Czech hedgehog is an anti-tank obstacle comprised of angular steel beams riveted together at a cross-section. Its size and ability to function even when rolled or knocked over makes it a great all-purpose tank trap - requiring only one or two to completely block off a thoroughfare. While smaller vehicles and infantry will be able to navigate around it, the Hedgehog is a cost-effective static defense for both the German and US Engineer role.
